Tank Model Name

Introducing the newly updated Panzer IV from Taigen—a meticulously engineered upgrade to one of the most iconic WWII tanks. This version features a brand-new, heavy-duty metal lower hull with a 2mm+ thick stamped construction for ultimate durability, along with an innovative easy-access latch system. The enhanced upper hull includes more intricate detailing and working metal hatches, while the turret has been fully upgraded to a metal design, complete with functional hatches on both sides, a new metal cupola, and a reinforced mantlet.

The Panzer IV is available in both airsoft and infrared configurations. Both versions include track recoil when firing, while the infrared model also adds barrel recoil and an LED flash at the barrel tip for added realism. Each tank comes ready-to-run (RTR), complete with an accessory kit, a rechargeable battery and charger, a 2.4GHz transmitter, smoke fluid, and a detailed manual. The infrared version additionally includes the IR battle system for interactive play.

Equipped with Taigen’s advanced V3 electronics, this Panzer IV is compatible with a wide range of hobby-grade, 6-channel PWM transmitters and receivers. Popular brands like Spektrum (with 5V receivers), TBS Crossfire, FRSky, FlySky, Futaba, and JR have been confirmed to work seamlessly with minimal setup required—just follow the included manual for guidance.

Available in a striking two-tone camouflage, the Panzer IV Metal Edition comes fully loaded with premium features: steel gearboxes (3:1, Middle/Low, 48mm), a solid metal chassis, metal suspension, metal drive and idler wheels with bearings, metal road wheels with rubber tires, and metal caterpillar tracks. The upper hull and turret boast a fully metal construction with an authentic smoke unit, sound system, LED headlights, and an LED-equipped machine gun. Ready to roll right out of the box, the only thing you'll need are six AA batteries for the transmitter!

Historical Significance

The Panzer IV was one of Germany's most important tanks during World War II, known for its adaptability and battlefield success. Initially designed as an infantry support vehicle, it quickly evolved to meet the challenges of modern warfare, receiving upgrades like the longer 75mm KwK 40 L/43 gun to improve its anti-tank capabilities. The Panzer IV became the backbone of the Panzer divisions, seeing action in major campaigns from the Eastern Front to North Africa.

Key Battles:

  • Battle of Kursk (1943): The Panzer IV played a crucial role in the largest tank battle of the war. Though the German offensive was ultimately unsuccessful, the Panzer IV proved effective against Soviet armor.
  • North African Campaign (1941-1943): Under General Rommel, Panzer IVs were essential in desert warfare, where their mobility and firepower helped the Germans score tactical victories against British forces in battles like Gazala and Tobruk.

Notable Stories: Panzer IV crews frequently praised the tank’s reliability. During the Battle of Kursk, one Panzer IV crew held off multiple Soviet tanks, allowing their comrades to retreat. The tank withstood several hits and remained operational, highlighting its durability.

The Panzer IV’s legacy extended beyond WWII, seeing action in later conflicts like the 1967 Six-Day War, which underscores its long-lasting influence in armored warfare.
